How to Replace Toshiba L645 L645D Laptop Keyboard

In this article I show how to disassemble and replace Toshiba Satellite L645 / L645D keyboard.

Before take apart the keyboard, please turn off the laptop

Step 1

Remove the battery from laptop. There are 2 screws(red circle) under the battery for securing the keyboard.  Lossen the screws.

Step 2

Carefully lift up the right side of the keyboard cover with a screwdriver.  Then continue removing the keyboard cover with your fingers.

Step 3

Lift up the top side of the keyboard, then you can access the cable connector underneath.

After release the keyboard cable from the connector, you can disassemble the keyboard.

Lift up the right side of the locking tab so it opens up at a 90 degree angle.  In this step the connector shown in the unlocked position.
Now you can take apart cable from the connector.

Remove the Toshiba L645 / L645D keyboard.
